Fire activity continues at a high pace in the Borough as fire units responded into the 700 block of Hamilton Boulevard for a reported car fire. Arriving units located a heavily involved auto up against a class 5 structure with a wood truss roof. The working fire signal was transmitted and Engine 5 arrived and began suppression by stretching an 1 3/4 attack line placing it between the auto and onto the building. This structure has a three story wood frame apartment building on the exposure B side and a one story class 3 repair garage on exposure D. No damage to either exposure was noted. Fire extended from the auto which was backed up against the building into the roof ridge area. One line was placed into service with Truck 7 setup on side A to assist with overhaul operations. It was necessary to force entry into the building which had a moderate smoke condition throughout. Natural ventilation was conducted. The fire was placed under control and turned over to the Fire Marshal’s office for origin and cause investigation. Chief Scalera in command.
