It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of former member and Exempt member Len Capraro Jr on October 3, 2017. Brother Capraro was 79 years old and was living in Oaklahoma City, Oaklahoma. He was a member of the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department from 1959 through 1975. His father Len Capraro Sr was also a member of the Fire Department and is one of the members of the 50 year club (1939-1990). Len would attempt to stop in yearly on or around Labor Day to take in the parade and visit with the members. He would always remind us of the year that he caught the working fire at the former Pellegrinos Bar on New Market Avenue on Labor Day in 1982, which was also the beginning of our celebration of our 75th year of service. Services will be held on Saturday October 14th at 10am at the Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene located at 4400 NW Expressway Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116. Brother Capraro is survived by his wife Trudy and son Rob and daughter Amy Lynn. Thank you for your service and dedication to the citizens, the community and the members of the fire department brother, you will be missed.
