Structure Fire - Piscataway
​
Just before 2pm, the fire department was dispatched to the 200 block of William Street in the New Market section of Piscataway for a 2nd alarm structure fire. Engine 6 responded and was assigned to perform primary searches and assist with fire suppression.

Structure Fire - Piscataway
​
Around 04:15, South Plainfield Fire was dispatched to the 1500 block of West 4th Street in the Arbor section of Piscataway for a 2nd alarm structure fire. Engine 6 responded as firefighters provided search and fire suppression assistance.
January 30, 2020
Structure Fire - Norwood Avenue
​
Around 3pm, the fire department was dispatched to the 300 block of Norwood Avenue for a reported garage fire. Deputy 1 arrived and found a 25' x 20' detached garage fully involved. Three lines were placed into operation, as well as the deck gun off of Engine 5. Some exposures were damaged due to the intense heat from the fire. Plainfield Fire sent one engine to the scene to assist while New Market Fire stood by at our quarters.

Trailer Fire - Tyler Place

Just after 5pm, the fire department was dispatched to Tyler Place for a trailer fire. The truck operator was able to dump the load out of the trailer and Engine 5 used the deck gun to initially attack the fire. Firefighters were then able to use handlines to douse remaining hotspots. Chief Scalera in command.

Structure Fire - Plainfield
​
Truck 7 was requested into Plainfield to a working structure fire on East 7th Street. Due to the building being condemned, fire command had Truck 7 set up aerial operations on the B-side of the fire building. Scotch Plains Fire Department laid a 5-inch supply line to feed water to Truck 7.

Three mutual aid responses

South Plainfield firefighters kept busy as we were requested to respond mutual aid three times in the same day. The first mutual aid call came just after 10am, as firefighters responded into the Arbor section of Piscataway for a 2-alarm house fire. The second mutual aid call came at 2:30pm, where Truck 7 responded to Edison Station 3 to stand by while they were out at a structure fire. The third mutual aid call came before 7:30pm, as Engine 6 responded into Metuchen for a 2-alarm house fire.

7-alarm multi-Structure Fire - Bound Brook
​
Around 9:30pm, South Plainfield was requested by the Middlesex County Fire Mutual Aid Coordinators to respond into Bound Brook for a multiple-alarm structure fire. Engine 6 responded and stood by at Bound Brook's Main Street firehouse, along with East Brunswick Independent Fire Company and Colonia Fire Department to cover the east side of town in the event of any further calls. Engine 6 remained on scene until 12:30am.
